Project proposal

Here’s a very informal project proposal structure.

• Project title
• Statement of purpose. What is the underlying issue that your project addresses, and how does your project address that issue?
• Motivation. Why did you choose this project, instead of another? How are you uniquely suited to address the issues you brought up in the statement of purpose?
• Target audience. Who is the project intended to address? Who is likely to receive the project? Why is your project important to them? (Hint: “Everyone” is not an audience.)
• Context. What other projects and literature inform your work? What other projects and literature will inform how your project is received?
• Production. How will you undertake your project?
• Evaluation. How will you know if your project sufficiently addressed the issue you identified?
